My name is Lawrence S. Tolentino. I was born on May 28, 2003 in Imus City, Cavite and I’m currently 18 years old. I have one sister named Zusie S. Tolentino. My parent name is Danilo V. Tolentino and Michel S. Tolentino. My name, Lawrence, in english means “man from Laurentum” or “bright one, shining one”. I was named by my father after the movie “Lawrence of Arabia” . I’m currently a grade 12 student at General Pantaleon Garcia Senior High School and currently taking the academic strand- Humanities on Social Science (HUMSS).
I would describe my personality as approachable, out/easy-going, curious, wise, creative, caring ,understanding, highly supportive and loving, passionate,band absent minded but thoughtful. I’m fiercely faithful and committed to people I cherish and value. Exceptionally much considerate and kind natured in terms of decision making.I would compare myself to a rock and glass. Rock because my behavior is like a rock, I can be as smooth or hard as rock it basically depends on the person at the end and sometimes i can be a raw rock which can turn to be a beautiful sculpture or just a piece of hard object ,mostly depends on the sculptor (person). Glass because whatever we pour in it can be easily seen because of transparency like this what is in my heart can be read on my face without any difficulty. I never hide my emotions whether it is of love or anger.
During my elementary days, especially when i was a grade 1 I was often bullied because of that my parents decided to enroll me in taekwondo class. When I was Grade 3 I transfer to other school beacuse i still get bullied in my previous school. When I was a grade 4 i join District , NCSU, provincial, STACAA meet and won a gold medal in taekwondo and sadly i didn’t get any medal in STACAA meet because of the fierce competition and my opponents are much stronger. When I was a grade 5 I join again in sports competition and won again. However, I became overconfident and complacement and reach to the point that I didn’t even practicing and training because of that I lose to the competition and I even lost my self-confidence. When I was a grade 6 I decided to learn and practice other martial arts. I decided to to learn wushu, a chinese martial arts. Although it was harder than taekwondo I enjoy it than to taekwondo. In wushu you can use every part of your body knee, head, legs, arms and etc. and they even teach you to use a weapon such a sword, spear, long stick and etc. unlike to other martial arts. February is our busy day because we help our coach during Chinese New Year to make a lion and dragon costumes for our performance. Our events performance mostly are at malls and hotels . Sadly, my coach passed away and our gym closed and stopped teaching. However, I never stopped practicing, sometimes I still practicing in our home. I never learned another martial arts because in my heart wushu is the best. When I was a grade 10 i started cycling until it became my hobby, I even cycling when going to school, practice, grocery and etc. Cycling heps me to relax my mind, ease my mood, and many more. I even make many friends because cycling we often ride to tagaytay when we have a free time. In the present i still actively cycling.
In my experience in life i learned to never think of the destination. Never define goals. Life is all about the ride not the destination. Because whenever in my life, I have tried to set destinations, things turn out in a different way, better than the way I had expected. Your destinations are already destined. No matter how hard you try or you pretend to try, you just can’t do anything about it. Its all about the ride. Worry never and enjoy the ride. Enjoy if some else rides along with you. Enjoy if you are alone. Just enjoy, enjoy and live your life. And with that, this concludes my life so far.
